Terms of Use

Shadoo is a mobile app for practicing spoken English through short daily shadowing sessions based on real English videos. It is available for iOS and Android; there is no web version of the app. We may improve, change or discontinue features over time.

You sign in with Apple or Google. You’re responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your device secure. You must be at least [13] years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use Shadoo.

• New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the trial converts into a paid subscription.
• Subscriptions are monthly or annual and renew automatically until you cancel.
• Prices, taxes and billing are shown and handled by the App Store or Google Play before you confirm your purchase.
• You can cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.

You can import videos from supported providers (currently YouTube) to create private lessons. Only import content you’re allowed to use. Imported lessons are visible only to you and are never added to the public catalog. We may refuse or remove content we can’t process, or that breaks these terms, the law or the provider’s rules.

Videos belong to their creators and are played from their original provider, such as YouTube, under that provider’s terms. Shadoo is not affiliated with or endorsed by the creators or providers whose videos appear in the app.

Please use Shadoo fairly: no reverse engineering, scraping or automated access, no attempts to disrupt the service, and nothing that infringes other people’s rights.

The Shadoo app, brand and design, and the learning materials we create (such as phrase segmentation, explanations and lesson content), belong to Shadoo or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app for your own learning.

Shadoo is a practice tool. Your progress depends on regular practice, and we can’t guarantee a specific result or level.

Shadoo is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

You can stop using Shadoo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these terms.

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know in the app before they take effect.
